3AWater Receives First Order from Sweden

We are proud to announce that 3AWater has received its first order from Sweden, with delivery scheduled in the coming months. This marks an important milestone for us, as we have been working for a long time to bring our Multimetal Water Analysis System (MWAS) to the Swedish market.

Why Sweden matters

Sweden is a highly interesting market for us, with a strong presence of mining, smelting, and steel industries. These sectors rely heavily on efficient and reliable water quality management, making on-site water analysis solutions such as MWAS especially valuable.

At the same time, Sweden presents unique challenges due to its regulatory environment:

1. Extremely low regulatory limits

Swedish environmental limits for metals in water are among the strictest in the world — often up to ten times lower than those in other countries, including Finland. Even with advanced tools like MWAS, such ultra-low concentrations in discharged or natural waters can be difficult to measure directly.

However, MWAS plays a critical role in managing water quality before treatment or dilution. By identifying anomalies early, industries can take preventative actions before potential contamination reaches the environment outside their sites. This early-warning capability is what makes MWAS so valuable in Sweden as well.

2. Lengthy environmental permitting processes

Another specialty of Sweden is its lengthy permitting and amendment processes. Environmental permits can take years to obtain or modify, which has slowed down development work for many industrial sites. In some cases, this even risks the continuity of operations.

Because of this, many potential MWAS users in Sweden are still cautious, waiting for permit clarity before investing in advanced water monitoring solutions.

A step forward

This first order proves that there is clear recognition of the value that MWAS can bring to the Swedish market. With on-site multimetal analysis in under 15 minutes, industries gain a powerful tool for proactive water management, helping them stay compliant and avoid costly surprises.

We look forward to supporting more Swedish customers in the future and contributing to safer, more sustainable water management in one of Europe’s most advanced industrial environments.
